Hello,
Great subject! A little remark:

I don't work for a fortune 500 or an NPO but my job is highly international. There are many internationally-focused opportunities these days that are with smaller businesses in the services sectors of the economy, government services, technology, etc.

For instance, I work for a German software company (Exorbyte.com) and we distribute our software here in the US from Portland.

Others may find work in the emerging clean technology sectors (highly international). Many companies could find advantages to opening a local branch here in Oregon rather than LA, NYC, or another expensive big metro area...

Cheers
Dan
