Obama's European Tour (YP Discussion Group) The World Affairs Council, Young Professionals invite you to our biweekly discussion group: Wednesday, 15 April 2009 | 7:00 p.m. Laurelwood NW Public House, NW Kearney & 23rd (MAP) (Upstairs in the back room.) President Obama just returned from his first trip overseas and he covered a lot of ground, not just geographically, but policy-wise as well: the global economic crisis, repairing relations with our European allies, extending a hand to Turkey and the broader Islamic world, formulating a bold new goal in nuclear non-proliferation, and visiting the troops in Iraq. Was the trip a success? Is Obama on the right track with how he is trying to recalibrate U.S. foreign policy? Some of his efforts were part of a larger emerging strategy to change the way the U.S. engages and influences the rest of the world. Will it work? Start the discussion on our blog.
